Kanasha S. Herbert is special counsel in the Corporate Practice Group in the firm's Chicago office and is a member of the firm’s Healthcare industry team.
Kanasha is a solutions-oriented transactional attorney with significant experience representing for-profit and non-profit hospitals and health systems and companies and entrepreneurs in buy side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, intercompany spin-offs and wind-down transactions. She regularly represents private equity funds in portfolio acquisitions and venture capital and growth equity funds, angel investors and emerging growth companies in debt and equity financings across various industry sectors including healthcare, digital health, fintech, entertainment, edtech, and food and beverage. Kanasha regularly advises clients in ongoing business matters, including formation, corporate governance, strategic transactions, joint ventures and collaboration agreements.
Prior to returning to private practice, Kanasha was a securities finance attorney for a global custody bank and was a hardware design engineer at a multinational information technology company prior to attending law school.
