Overview

Gal Gressel is a go-to California employment litigator who advises companies on high-stakes matters involving noncompete agreements, trade secrets, employee mobility and other workplace issues. He is known for navigating the complexities of California employment law and helping clients make critical strategic decisions early in a dispute to protect business interests and minimize risk.

Gal represents employers in complex employment litigation in state and federal courts, arbitrations and administrative proceedings, including wage and hour class and PAGA actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination claims, whistleblower matters and disputes involving independent contractor classification. He also handles sophisticated trade secret and unfair competition matters and frequently advises on issues that arise when an employee departs for a competitor or joins a new employer amid allegations involving confidential information, restrictive covenants, or trade secret misappropriation.

In addition to his litigation practice, Gal serves as trusted counsel on proactive employment strategies and compliance. He regularly advises on wage and hour compliance, employee discipline and terminations, workplace investigations, leave and accommodation issues, arbitration agreements, employee handbooks and personnel policies. He also helps clients draft and enforce confidentiality agreements and other restrictive covenants designed to protect intellectual property and proprietary information, including in connection with the sale of a business.

Gal’s clients span industries including healthcare, technology, logistics and transportation, manufacturing, retail, construction, housing, food and beverage, financial services and the gig economy. Clients value his ability to pair technical legal analysis with practical business judgment, particularly in fast-moving disputes that require strategic procedural maneuvering across multiple jurisdictions and evolving areas of California law. He also regularly writes and speaks on developments involving restrictive covenants and other issues facing California employers.

Outside the office, Gal enjoys travel, the outdoors and adventures with his wife and two sons.
