Overview

Shaun Clark is an experienced entertainment and branding attorney who practices at the intersection of content, branding, celebrity and technology. An “outside the box” lawyer, Shaun thrives most while collaborating with clients on high-profile, cutting-edge deals and new business models in the ever-evolving media and branding landscape.

Representing studios, major brands, independent producers, advertising agencies and other entertainment and advertising-related entities, Shaun advises on the acquisition of intellectual property rights and the development, finance, production, distribution and exploitation of entertainment and branded content and related location-based entertainment, merchandising, social media and online and field marketing promotional campaigns. He has worked with celebrities, financiers and management teams to launch globally recognized celebrity-branded products and companies.

A significant portion of Shaun’s practice is representing investors, sellers and purchasers of equity in entertainment and media companies, content libraries, brands and entertainment properties.

In recent years, he has worked with some of the top players in the virtual reality, video game, social media and podcast businesses.

Shaun also counsels brands and sports teams on the negotiation of content production, endorsement, sponsorship, product placement and licensing arrangements, including stadium naming rights and jersey sponsorship deals.

He also handles the negotiation and documentation of complex financing relationships and bankruptcy issues respecting entertainment assets and companies.

Shaun has drafted and negotiated numerous shopping, co-development/production, hosting, production services and distribution agreements for reality television, documentaries and motion pictures.

Outside the office, Shaun is a serious photographer who travels to remote destinations to capture images of wildlife. Closer to home, he shoots Major League Soccer and international soccer matches for Getty Images.
