Overview

Samson Huang is an associate with the Labor and Employment Practice Group in the firm's Los Angeles office.

Samson represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, with a focus on the defense of class and PAGA actions in state and federal courts. He also has extensive experience defending companies against claims of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Samson has served as trial counsel in bench and jury trials and in arbitrations, and has successfully defeated class certification and obtained summary judgment for his clients.

Samson also assists employers with workplace investigations, wage-and-hour compliance audits, and regularly advises employers regarding workplace accommodations and employee disciplinary actions and separations.

  • Second-chaired jury trial in wage and hour case alleging telecommunications provider misclassified the plaintiff as an exempt outside salesperson, resulting in a complete defense verdict.
  • Second-chaired bench trial involving religious discrimination and accommodation claims against telecommunications provider, resulting in damages award of less than one percent of the amount requested by the plaintiff.
  • Second-chaired arbitration involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour claims against a hospital, resulting in complete defense award that was confirmed by the trial court and affirmed on appeal.
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of national telecommunications provider in a PAGA action alleging that the company incorrectly calculated paid sick leave for its outside salespersons.
  • Drafted summary judgment motion resulting in a voluntarily dismissal of defamation and wrongful termination action against university.
