Nina Montazeri is an associate in the Labor and Employment Practice Group in the firm's San Francisco office.
Employment Litigation
Nina represents employers in all areas of employment. She defends employers in state and federal courts and arbitration against a broad range of employment-related claims, including wage and hour individual and class actions, representative actions under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and claims involving discrimination, harassment, failure to accommodate, retaliation, wrongful termination, and breach of contract. Nina also represents employers in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Civil Rights Department, and the California Labor Commissioner. She also has traditional labor experience, including unfair labor practice proceedings, and litigation related to the National Labor Relations Act.
Advice and Counsel and Investigations
Nina maintains an active practice providing strategic advice and counsel to employers of all sizes and businesses in a wide variety of industries on key employment issues. Her counseling practice includes wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations, performance management, discipline and separations, reductions in force, internal investigations, worker classification, trainings, arbitration agreements, background checks, and the preparation and review of personnel documents. She has significant experience drafting and updating employee handbooks and workplace policies to promote compliance with local, state, and federal law and to help minimize litigation risk.
