Kristi Thomas represents clients in employment disputes and workplace counseling matters, combining hands-on litigation experience with practical day-to-day employment advice. She works closely with employers to defend workplace claims, manage employment risks and maintain compliant policies and practices.
Kristi’s practice includes defending employers in class actions and single-plaintiff employment disputes involving the full spectrum of labor and employment issues. She has experience handling all phases of civil litigation, including depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration and trial preparation. She has also served as trial counsel in multiple cases that resulted in favorable defense verdicts for her clients. In addition to her litigation practice, Kristi provides day-to-day counseling on a range of employment law issues, including wage-and-hour compliance, disability accommodations, family and medical leave, discipline and termination. She conducts supervisor and non-supervisor trainings on sexual harassment prevention and workplace behavior, helping clients build a more informed and compliant workforce.
Kristi began her legal career in Philadelphia, where she defended nationally ranked hospitals and healthcare professionals. After becoming a member of the State Bar of California, Kristi has gained more than 15 years of experience in complex litigation before joining Sheppard.
Beyond her client work, Kristi serves on the firm's Recruiting Committee and Sustainability Committee, is a member of the Wellness Resources Group and is actively involved in Sheppard's pro bono program.
