Matt Lutz leverages his strong technical experience to help technology companies navigate the full litigation cycle, from pre-litigation analysis through trial. He has represented a wide range of clients—from small, privately held companies to the world's largest tech companies, with a focus on software and IT patent litigation matters. He has taken and defended depositions, performed source code reviews, conducted direct and cross examinations at trial, and successfully drafted and argued dispositive and discovery motions. He has also drafted expert reports, infringement and invalidity contentions, pleadings, and discovery materials. His litigation experience spans most major patent litigation venues, including the ITC, PTAB, the District of Delaware, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas.
Matt's legal practice is informed by several years of prior experience in software development, cybersecurity, and project management, including roles at a Fortune 500 company and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Matt received his J.D. from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where was awarded the Strouse Prize as the top graduating student in the school's Law, Science, and Innovation Center.
