Erica has particular experience representing construction owners, general contractors, and design professionals across both contentious and transactional matters. Her construction practice spans multi-story residential high-rises, large apartment complexes, and major public improvement projects. On the transactional side, Erica counsels clients through the pre-project phase, drafting and negotiating a wide range of project-critical agreements—including prime contracts, subcontracts, owner-architect agreements, and design-build contracts—helping clients structure their agreements to allocate risk effectively and reduce the likelihood of future disputes. Her construction litigation practice covers breach of contract, construction defect and delay claims, fraud, insurance defense, and other business torts across diverse industries.
As a member of multiple trial teams, Erica is actively involved in all phases of litigation—from initial investigation through trial and appeal. She routinely takes depositions, prepares and analyzes expert reports, and helps shape overall case strategy.
Erica also brings substantial experience managing complex insurance matters. She is adept at preparing detailed insurance tower reports and regularly coordinates calls and communications among clients, counsel, and carriers to ensure ongoing alignment and effective defense strategies. In addition, Erica is highly proficient in electronic discovery (eDiscovery) and skilled in overseeing and implementing large-scale document review projects, ensuring efficient and effective management of data-intensive matters.
Erica is also committed to mentoring junior associates and guiding them through complex pre-trial and trial processes. Before entering law practice, Erica gained valuable experience as a paralegal and legal assistant at a prominent litigation firm in Chicago.
