Emily focuses her practice on intellectual property (IP) litigation, representing clients in a range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, software, telecommunications, and consumer products.
Emily has experience managing all phases of patent litigation, from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal. She is skilled at developing case strategies, managing cases, and navigating complex discovery processes. Her approach combines technical understanding with a keen awareness of clients' business goals, ensuring effective and efficient representation in every matter.
She has trial experience in complex intellectual property disputes and Section 337 investigations at the International Trade Commission (ITC). She represents clients in patent infringement cases before federal district courts and the ITC, as well as government contract disputes before the Court of Federal Claims.
Emily served as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, where she handled complex civil cases against the U.S. government involving patent infringement, Fifth Amendment takings, bid protests, government contracts, and vaccine injuries. As a law clerk, Emily attended oral hearings and assisted in preparing for a myriad of disputes, including Markman hearings, invalidity challenges, and discovery disputes.
Emily maintains an active pro bono docket, representing clients on constitutional matters and advocating for veterans in benefits and service-related matters. Emily is a member of the Giles Rich American Inn of Court, the ITC Trial Lawyers Association, and the Court of Federal Claims Bar Association.
