Elizabeth Nevins advises healthcare providers, life sciences companies, investors, and other healthcare stakeholders on complex transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters. Drawing on both her legal and scientific background, she helps clients navigate emerging issues at the intersection of healthcare, life sciences and innovation.
Elizabeth’s practice includes mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, physician contracting, payor arrangements and healthcare compliance. She advises clients on fraud and abuse considerations arising under the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act. She also monitors regulatory and market developments affecting value-based care, digital health, artificial intelligence and healthcare consolidation, helping clients navigate the legal and business challenges associated with operating in a highly regulated and evolving industry.
Prior to joining the firm, Elizabeth worked as a biochemistry research technician at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she supported neurodegenerative disease research involving advanced molecular and gene-editing technologies, including CRISPR. Her scientific training provides valuable insight into the legal, regulatory and commercial challenges facing healthcare and life sciences organizations, particularly in the areas of clinical research and biotechnology.
Elizabeth serves as an associate co-lead of the Women in Healthcare Leadership Collaborative (WHLC) and participates in internal working groups focused on Antitrust, Life Sciences, False Claims Act, AI and Digital Health. She also coordinates pro bono opportunities for Sheppard’s Dallas office.
