Overview

Clare Burgess is an associate in the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. 

Clare earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where she served as a Writing Fellow and as a member of the school’s Moot Court Board. She was also involved with the Ethical Tech Initiative as a lead researcher for the organization’s Reproductive Data Privacy Initiative. During her time in law school, she worked as a law clerk for the Federal Communications Commission’s Media Bureau, Industry Analysis Division, and she participated in the annual International Institute of Space Law’s Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition.

Prior to joining Sheppard, Clare worked at a consulting firm as an analyst for government and public services clients. Clare received her B.A. from Claremont McKenna College, where she studied government.
