Overview

Andrew Crawford counsels clients on a range of complex civil litigation matters, including defamation, contract disputes and business-related torts. He also has significant experience advising on government contracts matters.

In his government contracts practice, Andrew prosecutes and defends state and federal bid protests (including before the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the Court of Federal Claims) and advises clients on debriefings, requests for equitable adjustment, claims, prime/sub disputes, adverse past performance challenges, contract administration and compliance issues.
Experience

Litigation

  • Represented high profile American actor in his successful defamation suit against his ex-wife, which resulted in a $10.35 million judgment in his favor after a six-week jury trial in Fairfax, Virginia.
  • Defended political figure in defamation case in Alexandria, Virginia.
  • Successfully defended and obtained dismissal of breach of fiduciary duty/conversion case against corporate board member/investor in Central District of California.
  • Represented membership organization in arbitration against bank stemming from security breach.
  • Represented LLC member in successful appeal of negligence case against title company stemming from fraudulent real estate transaction.
  • Represented gas station owner in successful Fifth Amendment Takings case against District of Columbia.
  • Represented SaaS company in earnout dispute, which resulted in favorable declaratory judgment following one-day bench trial in Delaware Chancery Court.

Government Contracts

  • Successfully protested award of Naval Surface Warfare Center contract on behalf of large government contractor. In response to the supplemental protest, the agency took corrective action.
  • Successfully protested award of $28 billion National Nuclear Security Administration contract for management and operation of Y-12/Pantex sites. In response to the protest, NNSA took corrective action.
  • Defended protest on behalf of large government contractor under $61 million GSA facilities maintenance contract.
  • Defended protest on behalf of large government contractor under $45 million Department of Energy contract for facilities maintenance.
  • Successfully protested Food and Drug Administration RFQ. In response to the protest, the FDA took corrective action.
  • Defended protest on behalf of large defense contractor relating to $131 million Army software and systems engineering support contract.
  • Defended protest on behalf of large government contractor under $22 million U.S. Marine Corps contract for software system.
  • Successfully protested Army Corps of Engineers contract. In response to the protest, the agency took corrective action.
  • Defended protest at the Court of Federal Claims of a $20.5 million Department of the Navy contract for port operations services.
  • Defended protest on behalf of large government contractor under $157 million Army contract for software and engineering support at 73 locations around the world.
  • Defended protest on behalf of government contractor under $28.75 million HHS Food and Drug Administration contract for website content management and support services.
  • Successfully protested award of $42 million Naval Sea Systems Command contract for development of crew-served M2HB/M2A1 Weapon Sights.
  • Successfully protested award of Army Fort Rucker support services contract. In response to the protest, the Army took corrective action.
