Overview

Alexis Robinson practices law at the intersection of technology and intellectual property rights. In addition to serving as leader of Sheppard’s Entertainment, Technology and Media practice group, she co-leads the firm’s Music industry team.

A strategic counselor and dealmaker, Alexis advises entities in the music, entertainment, emerging technology and media sectors on complex transactions involving licensing, distribution and rights acquisition. She is recognized as a leader in her field by key players in the music and entertainment industries as well as legal professionals.

Her practice includes complex commercial and technology transactions, including licensing, rights acquisition, advertising, data center services, outsourcing arrangements and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) agreements. She regularly advises technology platforms, media companies and digital service providers on the structuring and negotiation of agreements governing the hosting, use and commercialization of data and content. Alexis has extensive experience navigating novel legal issues related to intellectual property ownership, data use and emerging technologies, translating business goals into practical legal strategy.

Alexis has extensive experience negotiating licensing arrangements and other agreements involving disruptive technologies. With her help, clients leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to transform their businesses, including when navigating novel legal issues related to IP ownership, monetization and data privacy.

With a broad practice in the digital and entertainment space, her work includes negotiating agreements related to music and digital content rights, and structuring deals for app development and SaaS platforms. Her experience also extends to advising on esports, online gaming, brand licensing and high-profile sponsorships.
