Sheppard Partners Named 2026 Sports Business Visionaries

Brian Anderson, David Sunkin and Nicolas Urdinola were named 2026 Sports Business Visionaries by the Los Angeles Times. The inaugural list recognizes “the diverse ecosystem of dedicated professionals that maintain the sports business behind the scenes,” according to the publication. 

Anderson and Sunkin co-lead the firm’s Sports industry team. Anderson was recognized for representing Bertram Capital in its investment in Querétaro Fútbol Club–his second Liga MX deal in 12 months–and advising the majority owners of Swansea City AFC on their controlling acquisition.

Sunkin was recognized for representing the City of Pasadena and the Rose Bowl Operating Company in hosting 2028 Olympic soccer matches. He also advises UCLA, USC, UC Irvine and Majestic Industry Hills as Olympic venues.

Entertainment, Technology and Advertising Partner and Sports industry team member Urdinola was noted for counseling CaliSports on acquiring exclusive UEFA Champions League broadcast rights in Mexico, among other major rights deals for sports organizations and streaming services.
