Jason Kearnaghan and Tracey Kennedy were recognized as 2026 Leaders of Influence in Labor and Employment by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Each year, the publication honors “some of the very best labor and employment attorneys in the region.”
Kearnaghan, co-leader of Sheppard’s Labor and Employment practice group, was highlighted for representing employers at every stage of labor and employment litigation, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation and whistleblower claims. Recently, he secured a complete defense verdict on behalf of a healthcare client in a hard-fought case involving claims of harassment, discrimination and retaliation—a result that was subsequently affirmed on appeal.
Kennedy has represented clients in discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination cases for over 30 years. She recently represented the County of Orange in two high-profile and hard-fought jury trials alleging misconduct by District Attorney Todd Spitzer and certain county personnel. Ultimately, Kennedy obtained favorable resolutions for the client by mitigating the uncertainty, cost and operational disruption associated with protracted litigation.
