Sheppard is pleased to announce several leadership appointments within the firm.

“Sheppard is built on strong, collaborative leadership,” said Luca Salvi, chair of Sheppard. “We are thankful to these exceptional attorneys for stepping forward to serve in critical management roles. Their dedication to our clients and stewardship of our culture have shaped our success, and I am confident their leadership will help guide the firm’s continued growth.”

Stephen LaSala has been elected co-managing partner, succeeding MaryJeanette Dee, who is retiring after serving eight years in the role and more than 30 years as a high-stakes investigations, securities enforcement and white collar criminal defense attorney. LaSala, a San Diego (Del Mar) partner, joins vice chair Kevin Cloutier and co-managing partner Linda Michaelson on the Sheppard leadership team under chair Luca Salvi. Collectively, they lead the firm’s strategic direction and oversee recruiting, practice group and industry teams, among other responsibilities.

LaSala has spent the majority of his legal career at Sheppard as a corporate transactional attorney. He has advised on hundreds of M&A transactions across industries and geographic borders. Throughout his tenure at the firm, he has held several leadership roles, including serving as chair of the firm’s Compensation Committee for the past four years, and he was previously co-leader of the firm’s Corporate practice group and office managing partner in San Diego (Del Mar).

“I want to thank MaryJeanette for her outstanding contributions and commitment to Sheppard over her distinguished career,” Salvi added. “I am confident that Steve will serve with distinction as he steps into this new leadership role. His experience and dedication to our firm and clients will be invaluable as we continue to grow.”
