Sheppard represented Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. (ESAero), a leading producer of unmanned aircraft systems and advanced air mobility platforms, in its acquisition by AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV) for $200 million.
ESAero is recognized for deep engineering competency in the design and manufacturing of innovative, reliable and scalable aircraft systems including power and energy systems for commercial and military applications. Based in San Luis Obispo, California, ESAero provides vertically integrated AS9100 certified services in research and development, engineering, design for manufacturing, rapid prototyping, testing and serialized production expanding in the thousands.
The team was led by Zac Turke, Rambod Peykar, Fernando Samayoa, Edwin Astudillo, Leo Caseria, Michael Chan, Frank Dworak, Keith Szeliga, John Tishler, Jared Whalen and Karen Shilyan.
