Judy Suwatanapongched is a trial lawyer who represents clients in complex business and healthcare litigation. A member of the firm’s Business Trial practice group, she focuses on the needs of companies in California and nationwide in resolving their disputes. She is co-leader of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Attorney Network.
Addressing the full range of business disputes, Judy handles all stages of litigation, from case filing to dispositive motions to mediation, arbitration, trial and judgment enforcement. She advises on litigation involving:
- Breach of contract
- Fraud
- California’s Unfair Competition Law, False Advertising Law and Consumers Legal Remedies Act
- Privacy rights
- Breach of fiduciary duty
- Indemnification claims
- Commercial loan defaults
- Lender liability
Her clients include businesses in the healthcare, banking and financial services, real estate, consumer products, and data and electronic service industries.
Known and valued as a collaborative, attentive and detail-oriented litigator, Judy brings clear communication, organization and a solutions-oriented approach to the skillful implementation of litigation strategies. She leads legal teams in complex discovery, e-discovery and trial preparation, and is a member of the firm’s E-Discovery team and technology advisory council.
Judy also handles due diligence review of litigation-related risks for mergers, acquisitions and other transactions.
In 2012, Judy helped launch the Thai American Bar Association (TABA)—the first organization to support Thai and Thai American legal professionals in the United States—and served as its founding president. She currently serves on TABA’s board.
Judy currently serves on the advisory board of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles, where she has served on the board of governors since 2007 and was its president in 2015.
