Heather Plocky defends companies, executives, and financial institutions in high-stakes commercial and business litigation in state and federal court. Her practice focuses on defense of Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower retaliation claims, financial services litigation, complex e-discovery matters, real estate litigation, and other complex commercial disputes.
Defending employers and officers in whistleblower administrative actions, civil lawsuits, and regulatory inquiries—under Sarbanes-Oxley, Dodd-Frank, and other federal and state whistleblower laws—Heather formulates and executes cohesive strategies that protect clients and their proprietary and privileged information throughout the administrative, civil, and regulatory process. She also advises proactively — conducting compliance reviews, training employers on whistleblower-related risk, and leading internal whistleblower investigations — to help clients avoid disputes before they arise.
In financial services litigation, Heather advises banks with assets up to $30 billion on complex disputes involving deposits, loans, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and other high-stakes matters.
Heather leads large, sophisticated e-discovery teams of up to 40 lawyers in bet-the-company litigation, deploying AI-driven review technology to manage the collection, review, redaction, and production of documents efficiently and at scale, while working directly with directors and officers to protect privileged and sensitive information throughout the process.
Heather also counsels clients in real estate disputes, including matters involving commercial leases and purchase and sale agreements, resolving controversies strategically and efficiently. Heather is a member of the firm's Securities Enforcement and Litigation team, serves as co-chair of the firm's Los Angeles Recruiting Committee, and is a member of the firm's Women Lawyers Group National Leadership Council.
In her free time, she enjoys Dodgers baseball, hockey and fantasy football.
