Paul Kim advises Korean asset managers, private equity sponsors and other financial institutions, as well as Korean, European and U.S. multinational companies, on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, financings, capital markets and other transactions involving the United States, Korea and global markets, drawing on more than 20 years practicing in New York, over 10 years practicing in Seoul and two years practicing in London.
Paul has substantial experience and expertise in structuring and executing complex strategic multi-jurisdictional transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and technology collaborations, particularly in the industrial, manufacturing, life sciences and technology sectors. Paul in particular has extensive experience advising Korean multinationals and investors, as well as European multinationals, as U.S. counsel on transactions involving the United States, including navigating U.S. regulatory requirements such as CFIUS and Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) matters in connection with cross-border investments, acquisitions and commercial arrangements. He also advises these clients on U.S. and offshore entity selection, formation, structuring and corporate governance issues.
Paul also regularly advises on private equity, venture capital and co-investment transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, PIPEs investments, fund formations and investments and structured equity investments, as well as capital markets transactions such as IPOs and other public and private offerings.
Regularly representing institutional investors in cross-border financing transactions, Paul also has experience in private credit, leveraged loans and other structured debt investments, including related multi-jurisdictional restructurings.
