Sam Smith is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm’s San Diego (Del Mar) office.
Sam advises and represents clients on intellectual property matters including litigation of patents and trade secrets. He also advises on copyright issues related to Artificial Intelligence. Sam is registered to practice in front of the USPTO and maintains a wide variety of patent prosecution matters including medical devices, filters, engines, semiconductors, software, x-rays, lasers, and consumer products.
Sam’s technical experience includes a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. As an engineer, Sam has worked on a range of products including x-ray devices, solar equipment, superhydrophobic surfaces, medical devices, and motor oil formulations.
While attending The George Washington University Law School, Sam was a staff editor for the AIPLA Quarterly Journal and served as an extern in the Office of the General Counsel at the International Trade Commission.
