With more than a decade of experience, Nioura counsels a wide spectrum of clients—from emerging startups and profitable enterprises to multibillion-dollar health systems—with particular depth in matters involving financial distress and transformative acquisitions. She is nationally recognized for guiding hospitals and health systems through reorganizations, restructurings, bankruptcies and operational wind-downs, consistently developing creative solutions to preserve value and safeguard patient care in challenging environments.

Nioura’s practice covers venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings, with significant experience advising successful companies and distressed entities alike. She has led numerous transformative deals, including acting as lead transaction counsel for a national, multibillion-dollar hospital operator through bankruptcy proceedings and liquidation. She also has substantial experience representing academic medical centers and health systems in the acquisition and sale of hospitals from both public and private operators, as well as advising on the restructuring of health systems to separate physician groups and health plans, facilitating their sale to public companies. She offers particular expertise for clients with California operations and is well versed in the unique challenges facing hospitals and healthcare organizations in the state.

  • A California health plan in connection with a strategic affiliation with a high profile health insurance plan to launch co-branded HMO, EPO and Medicare Advantage health plans offered by the insurer through the health plan’s alliance provider network.
  • Many well-known public figures, artists, songwriters and creators in connection with their strategic investments in, and partnerships with, various emerging growth companies.
  • A major health system in the Northwest in a restructuring transaction with a distressed health plan, which included debt financing.
