Sheppard Co-General Counsel Michael Stewart guides the firm’s approach to legal ethics and risk management across all aspects of operations. He works closely with firm leadership and regularly advises the Executive Committee.
Michael oversees the defense and coordination of claims and arbitrations. He advises Sheppard lawyers on matters ranging from client and matter intake, engagement and disengagement issues, and conflicts of interest to policy development and internal investigations. Active in the legal ethics community, Michael speaks at events including the ABA National Conference on Professional Responsibility and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Professionalism & Ethics Committee.
