Meghan McCormick’s practice focuses on trusts and estates litigation. She litigates trust and will contests, breach of fiduciary duty cases, elder abuse cases, conservatorships, guardianships and accounting disputes. Meghan is admitted to practice in California, Colorado and Wyoming, making her uniquely situated to handle the needs of clients throughout California and the Mountain West.
Meghan is part of an internationally recognized team representing clients in some of the most complex and high-profile trust and estate disputes, often involving celebrities. Her cases have spanned the globe, implicating the laws of Australia, Chile, Argentina, Sweden, Iran, the UK and Switzerland.
Most recently, Meghan was an integral member of the team that secured victory for Rupert Murdoch in the succession dispute over the future of his media empire.
Meghan has been involved in several trust disputes over national sports franchises, including the LA Lakers, LA Chargers and Baltimore Orioles. She also helped win summary judgment, affirmed on appeal, for the estate of Douglas R. Tompkins, founder of The North Face and Esprit apparel companies, defeating a trust contest with global implications and protecting hundreds of millions of dollars dedicated to creating and expanding national parks in Chile and Argentina.
Active in the legal community, Meghan has undertaken several pro bono representations. She is also a member of the California Lawyers Association Trusts and Estates Section and the Wyoming Trust Association, where she serves on the legislative committee.
