Overview

Lisa Harris is an experienced labor and employment advisor who partners with employers across the United States on complex matters, from hiring through termination. She advises companies of all sizes and, for national employers, is a California employment law translator, helping them navigate the complexities of California law.

Working collaboratively with clients to foster better workplaces through practical legal advice, tailored training and effective investigations, Lisa advises on employment and traditional labor matters. Having served both as outside and in-house counsel, she understands the challenges faced by in-house employment lawyers, HR departments and DE&I teams.

Employment Counseling

Lisa counsels management on all aspects of California, New York and federal employment law, including hiring, classification, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, and terminations. She drafts and updates employment agreements, policies and handbooks, tailoring them to client operations and compliance goals.

Investigations

A seasoned investigator, Lisa conducts sensitive internal investigations, including matters involving senior executives of sports teams, public companies and national firms. She also trains HR professionals to conduct investigations effectively and in compliance with applicable law.

Training

Fluent in English and Spanish, Lisa delivers harassment prevention and DE&I training that meets state mandates. Her work includes developing programs on unconscious bias, allyship and HR compliance, covering wage and hour practices, accommodations and leaves.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Lisa advises on DE&I initiatives, employee resource groups and policy development. As part of the firm’s ESG and Sustainability industry team, she helps clients address the social aspects of ESG with healthy and equitable workplace practices.

Traditional Labor

Representing management in collective bargaining and labor arbitrations, Lisa handles matters involving contract interpretation and discipline and discharge issues.

Employment Litigation

Lisa develops effective defense strategies in single- and multi-plaintiff discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, and in response to federal and state administrative complaints and charges.

In her free time, Lisa enjoys traveling—on her own and with clients—to Disney parks worldwide.
