Joseph Sakai is an attorney in the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's San Francisco office.
Joseph’s practice centers upon representation of owners, developers, financiers, and contractors of commercial, industrial, and large scale multi-family housing projects. Joseph represents his clients in prosecuting and defending claims arising from construction, land use, financing, and lien disputes. Joseph also represents owners and developers in pursuing complex construction defect claims at multifamily housing and data center projects throughout California and Nevada.
Joseph’s hybrid practice also emphasizes the negotiation, drafting, and revising of contracts and agreements for land purchases, financing, development, and construction. Joseph has represented owners and developers in the drafting and negotiating of construction contracts for industrial development, data centers, hotels and resorts, commercial high rise projects, and multi-family homes. Joseph prepares bespoke construction agreements between owners and contractors, as well as provides comprehensive, project specific revisions and feedback on AIA templates.
In addition to his construction and development practice, Joseph represents clients in complex commercial litigation actions in state and federal court. Joseph advises and represents clients in the handling of securities claims, class actions, business divorce, breach of contract, and complex collection.
