Overview

An accomplished writer and persuasive litigator, Joe Reid assists clients in securing their works.

With courts busier than ever and increasing numbers of motions decided on the papers alone, litigators must tell stories that engage and persuade. Like the page-turning thriller novels he publishes in his spare time, Joe's briefs capture the court’s attention: federal judges have praised his work as among the best they have read.

Focused on patent litigation, patent trial matters, and high-end prosecution work, including inter partes reviews and portfolio strategy, Joe has practiced in district courts nationwide, the U.S. International Trade Commission, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has worked on dozens of cases, including 12 that culminated in a jury or bench trial, and is an accomplished stand-up litigator.

Joe has extensive experience in multidefendant cases and those involving industry standards. While his personal background is in the life sciences, Joe handles matters related to a variety of technologies, including computer software and hardware; consumer electronics; image, video, and audio processing; pharmaceuticals; medical devices; semiconductors; wireless networking; automotive systems; and e-commerce.
