Overview

Jennifer Chavez is a real estate and land use lawyer who advises clients on the purchase and sale of real estate and securing land use entitlements for projects throughout California.

Counseling major homebuilders, developers, landowners and public agencies on a variety of real estate ventures—including large and small-scale residential, commercial, industrial, hospital and healthcare-related, mixed-use and educational development projects—she represents clients before city councils, county boards of supervisors, planning commissions and other regulatory bodies to secure land use entitlements, permits and approvals.

Clients turn to Jennifer for creative thinking in developing strategies to work through impediments to projects and to connect them to the consultants and resources that get transactions and projects completed.

Jennifer's practice includes advising on compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Subdivision Map Act, the Coastal Act and planning and zoning laws, as well as other general real estate transactional matters.

In addition, Jennifer drafts and negotiates agreements with public agencies and private property owners concerning the use and development of real property including development and improvement agreements, funding and reimbursement agreements, purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, easement agreements and covenant agreements.
