Evara David advises clients on M&A transactions, corporate governance and commercial matters across a broad range of sectors, including in the media, entertainment, sports and live events industries. She works with companies of all sizes—from multinational corporations executing billion-dollar deals to middle-market businesses pursuing strategic acquisitions and internal reorganizations.
Evara takes a practical, commercially focused approach to complex transactions. She has guided clients through cross-border M&A involving multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders, helping them navigate legal and regulatory considerations while staying aligned with business objectives. Fluent in French, she frequently supports Canadian and other international matters. Clients value her ability to identify issues early, streamline execution and keep transactions moving efficiently, even under tight timelines or when complications arise.
Her practice spans day-to-day corporate and governance matters, commercial agreements, strategic investments, mergers and acquisitions and other complex transactions. She drafts and negotiates purchase agreements, shareholder agreements and operating agreements, and advises on entity formation and equity incentive structures. Throughout each engagement, Evara focuses on solutions that balance legal requirements with commercial goals.
Before practicing law, Evara worked in risk management at a large Canadian pension fund, where she developed a strong understanding of how institutions evaluate business, financial and operational risk. She later practiced at a major national firm in Montreal, concentrating on M&A across the insurance and entertainment sectors, and at a firm in Los Angeles, where she advised multinational clients on cross-border M&A.
Evara serves on the firm’s recruitment committee, where she helps evaluate prospective candidates. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her dog, going to the cinema and attending live events. She is a particular fan of science fiction content, especially Star Trek.
