Emil’s fund formation experience spans a broad range of strategies and asset classes, with particular depth in the establishment and ongoing operation of private investment funds and their management companies. He helps teams counseling sponsors and investors across various investment strategies and in connection with funds that deploy capital across a diverse range of industries, such as real estate, technology, and entertainment. Emil assists clients with investor marketing initiatives, relationships with placement agents, co-investment structures, distribution mechanics, fund restructurings, and the design and implementation of carried interest arrangements.
Complementing his sponsor-side work, Emil also contributes to solutions for institutional investors navigating the private equity landscape in their capacity as limited partners, evaluating the legal and structural terms of fund investments, and negotiating side letter provisions. This perspective provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the competing interests and priorities of fund sponsors and investors.
