Doug Swill is a nationally recognized healthcare lawyer who advises on strategic transactions for health systems and other large provider organizations, with a focus on transactions involving not-for-profit healthcare entities. He also provides counsel to provider organizations on existing and emerging regulatory, corporate governance and joint venture matters including complex vendor agreements.

Recognized with a Band 1 ranking in Healthcare law by Chambers USA, Doug has advised on more than 150 mergers and acquisitions in the not-for-profit healthcare space, including two of the larger health system combinations in the country as well as scores of other health system and provider entity strategic transactions. He is a leader in both innovative and traditional joint ventures including lab services, AI/virtual clinical care services and management service organizations.
Academic Health System Affiliations
Assisting health systems to establish, manage, restructure and dissolve academic medical and other health affiliations is also at the center of Doug’s practice. Notably, he advised a major public university in its affiliation with a large not-for-profit health system in establishing the world’s first engineering-based college of medicine.
