Claudia Hinsch advises employers in the aerospace and defense, healthcare, entertainment, sports, energy and other sectors on tax-efficient ways to attract and retain their employees. She represents private, public and tax-exempt entities, as well as private equity funds and their portfolio companies, on a range of executive compensation and employee benefit plans. This includes incentive compensation programs, qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and nonqualified compensation arrangements. Claudia also helps her clients negotiate employment, severance, retention and change of control agreements.
Claudia maintains a significant corporate transactional practice, frequently assisting clients with tax and post-transaction integration issues involving compensation and employee benefits in the context of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic transactions. Her work includes the implementation or termination of cash or equity compensation arrangements or benefit plans and advising on the implications to employees under benefit plans as they transition to a buyer.
She regularly advises employers on plan design and drafts and reviews plans, participant disclosures and other related documents. She also works with clients to ensure plan compliance with the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, ERISA, the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, the Pension Protection Act and the Internal Revenue Code.
In addition to her client work, Claudia is involved in her community, and she enjoys skiing and spending time on the Chesapeake Bay with her family.
