Abby Miles is an associate in the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's San Francisco office and a member of the firm's Class Action Defense Team.
Abby defends clients in complex business litigation matters and consumer class actions in both state and federal court and in arbitration. She represents clients across industries that engage in significant consumer-facing activities, with a particular focus on consumer lending, fintech, food and beverage, and retail.
Abby helps resolve claims of fraud, misrepresentation, breach of contract, lender liability, and unfair competition, including in actions involving alleged violations of California's Consumers Legal Remedies Act, False Advertising Law, and Unfair Competition Law, as well as under other states' similar consumer protection laws. She defends clients in matters involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and state-law equivalents including the Rosenthal Act, Abby's practice extends to governmental and regulatory investigations, as well as defending enforcement actions by state attorneys general and financial regulatory agencies.
Abby is involved in all phases of dispute resolution including pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions, as well as through trial and appeal, with a particular focus on pre-litigation counseling and compliance. Abby enjoys working with clients to identify risk and develop responsive strategies, integrate defensible policies and procedures, and pursue early resolution of potential disputes.
