Lorna Tanner Named a 2026 "Life Sciences Visionary" by the LA Times

Lorna Tanner was recognized among the LA Times’ 2026 list of “Life Sciences Visionaries.” The inaugural list honors the “scientists, researchers, legal staff and dedicated executive leadership who are actively pursuing good health, human longevity and cures to diseases that have devastated our society,” according to the publication. 

Tanner was recognized for serving as outside patent counsel for premier life sciences leaders such as Gilead Sciences and Denali Therapeutics. Her work for Gilead Sciences spans 16 years, including patent efforts for the drug Livdelzi and breakthrough Hepatitis C treatments.

Tanner is consistently lauded as a top patent attorney, having been named a 2026 Global IP Strategist by IAM Strategy 300 and a 2025 Leading Life Sciences Lawyer by LMG Life Sciences. Most recently, she was named Patent Prosecutor of the Year (West) in the 2026 Managing IP Americas Awards program.
