Jenny Hill Bratt and Adam Streisand were named among the Daily Journal’s 2026 list of “Top Estate & Wealth Management Lawyers” in California. The recognition highlights the attorneys shaping how California’s wealthiest families protect, plan and pass on their legacies.
Bratt was recognized for representing high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on estate and tax planning, estate administration and charitable planning. In the most complex matter of her career, she successfully helped a client protect a surviving spouse and children from a prior marriage, preserve the family business, reduce estate and GST exposure and establish a private foundation.
“What I did was combine the technical planning with conflict prevention,” Bratt said. “What I learned is that the best estate plan is not only tax efficient, but it is the plan that the family understands, accepts as fair and is therefore difficult to litigate.”
Streisand was noted for representing ultra-high-net-worth individuals, like media mogul Rupert Murdoch and others, in disputes over wealth transfer and succession planning.
In 2025, Streisand represented Murdoch in what he calls the “real-life ‘Succession’ drama,” that played out in court in Reno, Nevada. After an adverse ruling before the commissioner, the District Court Judge granted a new trial. During those proceedings, the parties negotiated a settlement buying out the interests of three Murdoch children in the Murdoch Family Trust, which owns the stock controlling Fox and News Corporation. The settlement gives son Lachlan Murdoch exclusive control of Murdoch’s media empire until 2050—an outcome that likely would not have been achievable through a trial victory alone.
Streisand also represents clients where an inheritance sits inside a family business, as was the case in Dea Spanos Berberian’s litigation against her brother Dean for a minority interest in the Los Angeles Chargers.
When asked his advice to those entering the field, he said “This is very personal work. These are the most difficult times in people’s lives. Your clients will be grateful to you in ways that are beyond my ability to comprehend. It’s a burden and a blessing that you have to be prepared to accept.”
