Camille Vasquez was named among the Daily Journal’s 2026 list of “Top 100 Lawyers and Distinguished Counsel.”
Known for representing Johnny Depp in his 2022 defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard, Vasquez will soon go to trial in another high-profile defamation case, representing the producers of the film “The Deb” in their claims against actress Rebel Wilson. She is also representing singer Gloria Trevia in litigation arising from allegations that have followed her throughout her career.
“Reputation is now part of the case from day one,” Vasquez said. “A dispute can be tried on social media for months before it ever reaches a courtroom, and clients need counsel who can protect them in both places without letting one undermine the other.”
Since joining Sheppard with a 12-attorney litigation team in 2024, Vasquez has helped cement the firm’s national practice focused specifically on defamation, reputation and high-stakes business litigation.
When she isn’t in the courtroom, Vasquez mentors associates and law students in the art of litigation. Recently, she delivered a keynote speech that closed the VIII Congreso Nacional e Internacional de Resolucion de Conflictos in Cartagena, Columbia, speaking in Spanish about the challenges of litigating under the spotlight.
