The Daily Journal named Camille Vasquez among its list of “Leading Commercial Litigators” for 2026. According to the publication, the list recognizes litigation lawyers in California that have “built careers on bet-the-company cases—with outcomes that matter for their clients, their industries and the law itself.”

Vasquez was recognized for defending the reputations of high-net-worth individuals and resolving crisis situations with “creative enthusiasm.” After successfully representing Johnny Depp in his 2022 defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard, she joined Sheppard as co-leader of the firm’s Defamation and Reputation Management practice.

“I feel very lucky,” Vasquez said in the Daily Journal. “I find such fulfilment and fun in my work.”

Vasquez recently secured the complete dismissal of defamation and extortion claims brought against Tony Buzbee and the Buzbee Law Firm in a highly publicized suit filed by music mogul Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter of pre-litigation demand letters and public statements about allegations against Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs.

“Justice was served,” Vasquez said. “I believe in all my clients tremendously.”

Vasquez also obtained dismissal, without leave to amend, of a suit filed by actress Rebel Wilson alleging fraud and breach of contract against firm client Amanda Ghost and two other producers of the musical film “The Deb.” She is also representing film composer and musician Danny Elfman in a legal battle with pianist and composer Nomi Abadi.
