Sheppard represented Marucci Sports founder and CEO Kurt Ainsworth in a management-led acquisition of Wheelhouse Holdings Inc., the parent company of Marucci Sports LLC from Fox Factory Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: FOXF), for an enterprise value of $225 million.
Marucci Sports is a leading sports equipment manufacturer and owner of the Marucci, Victus, Baum, Lizard Skins and The Stable brands, with Marucci and Victus serving as the Official Bats of Major League Baseball and Lizard Skins as the league’s Official Bat Grip. The transaction returns Marucci to its privately held roots and restores a founder-led ownership structure grounded in the company’s origins as a player-founded and player-led business.
The Sheppard deal team was led by Saul Rostamian, Daniel Peters and Patrick Quine and included Mike Baranovic, John Crisp, Shawn Fabian, Jared Whalen, Ines Briand, Weiwei Chen, Justin Fischer and Jake Torres.
