Sheppard Mullin partner Jonathan Meyer is intended to be President Biden’s nominee for General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, a position that will require senate confirmation. Meyer, who previously served as DHS deputy general counsel and senior counsel under the Obama administration from 2011-2016, said he was “honored and humbled to be nominated for this important role, to rejoin DHS and be a part of [the Biden] administration,” adding his appreciation “to Sheppard Mullin for being my professional home for the past four-and-a-half years.”

Sheppard Mullin chair Guy Halgren commented, “Clients have benefited immensely from Jon’s sage and experienced counsel. It’s not every day that you get the insight of a 20-year veteran of the highest levels of government to help you overcome your most critical challenges.”
