Overview

Michael Krill is a trial-ready patent litigator who helps technology-driven companies, primarily in the energy sector, navigate complex intellectual property disputes. His clients range from sophisticated corporations with large technology portfolios and significant nationwide business exposure to smaller, privately held entities with a regional presence.

Michael guides clients through the full range of issues implicated by IP disputes, including enforcing patent rights against competitors, defending claims of patent infringement, negotiating patent licenses, developing business-driven licensing programs and representing clients in post-grant proceedings before the Patent Office and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Drawing on his background in mechanical engineering, Michael translates complex technical concepts into clear legal strategy, helping clients evaluate disputes as business problems and determine where legal effort will drive results.

Michael has played key roles in multiple jury trial and precedential appellate victories. Known for his practical, detail-oriented advocacy in the courtroom, Michael adds the most value when the stakes and complexity are highest—when clients need someone who can take ownership of major disputes and keep them moving efficiently toward a business-driven resolution.

Michael maintains an active pro bono practice, having secured asylum for political refugees and domestic violence survivors. He has also helped protect the rights of disabled students and provided legal assistance to military veterans in family law and estate planning matters.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.
