National Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
Our firm and nation celebrate generations of Hispanic and Latin Americans who have positively influenced our nation and our firm.
National Hispanic Heritage Month, observed every September 15 through October 15, celebrates, honors, and uplifts the diverse identities and achievements of those in the Hispanic and Latinx communities. What began as a week-long holiday in 1968 expanded to a month-long heritage month in 1988 during Ronald Reagan’s presidency. September is an important month in Latin America, as it marks the independence of the following countries: Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua on September 15, Mexico on September 16, and Chile on September 18.
This year’s theme, Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation, promotes the important message of uplifting and uniting all voices and experiences for a stronger Hispanic and Latinx community. It is important to recognize the extensive diversity within the Hispanic and Latinx community. From the multiple languages and dialects spoken to the racial and cultural diversity, to the distinct histories of each region in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, this month, we honor them all.
